By many, he is considered a father of Detroit techno in the Netherlands, respected in the world of electronic music for his deep, groovy sounds that tend to rest on impressive strings, melodies, funk and soul.. He released on various labels over the years, like 100% Pure, Cocoon, Delsin, Sino, Music Man, etc. He remixed a variety of artists, from Taksi, Derrick May and John Tejada, to Armand van Helden, Club MCM, Armin van Buuren, Seven Grand Housing Authority, Victor Calderone, Basement Jaxx and MANDY vs Booka Shade.

29th October – MONDKOPF (Fool House,  France)
French electronic-music protégé, Mondkopf, releases his second album ‘Rising Doom’. Inspired by post-punk, black metal and with the music of Aphex Twin and Autechre always in his head, ‘Rising Doom’ displays an energy du force like no other.  Dark, almost Gothic, electronica intertwines with beautiful melodies and beats so heavy they pound deep into your soul; creating a sonic journey to the beautiful darkside. Defying tradition, in 2009 Mondkopf – originally from Toulouse but now living in Paris – imposed himself as a French electronic revelation with his debut album ‘Galaxy Of Nowhere’. Critical acclaim included a comparison to Brian Eno by Les Inrocks, as well as artistic parallels to Apparat and Modeselektor. He remixed Caribou, The Teenagers, Black Devil Disco Club, Golden Filter, Johnny Cash and picked up the ears of DJs including Busy P, Boys Noize and James Zabiela in the process… His ‘Galaxy of Nowhere’ Live show also began to tour… voted in the top five Live shows of 2010 by Tsugi Magazine in France.

19th November – ARTWORK (Magnetic Man, Menta, Big Apple Records)
Not many people can claim that they created a musical revolution but Artwork helped craft the sounds that became dubstep. Running “Big Apple Records” and signing songs by artists such as Benga, Skream and Digital Mystikz helped forge the community that dubstep grew from. Now as part of Magnetic Man, Artwork is still pushing the sound that he helped create and joins us at Bass Hoppa for his club debut.
